How to reach Majuli

By Road

Majuli is a sub-division of  Jorhat district of Assam. ASTC(Assam State Transport Buses) ply on a regular basis from Guwahati to Jorhat.

By Air

You can take flight from Guwahati to Jorhat .From Jorhat, there is short distance of fourteen kilometers to Neemati Ghat, from where you can take ferries to reach Majuli.

Going there in winters is preferable. Summer and rainy months should be avoided.

1 packet noodles

2 tablespoon butter

The recipe is quick and easy. It takes not more than 20 minutes. Boil 1 cup water and add the noodles, onions and peas. Boil the mixture until soft. Lastly, add the tuna pouch, butter and mayonnaise. Stir all the ingredients and serve hot to your family.

Shredded Beef Chili

If you like to carry non-vegetarian items, beef chili could be a good option. Make this chili at home and dehydrated it according to the instruction given in the dehydrated menu book.

What you need:

Half pound ground beef
1 by 4 cup bread crumbs as it helps to easily dehydrate the chili
1 medium size onion
3 tablespoon chili powder
1 to 15 ounces can of red beans
10 ounces can of tomato puree
All you need to do is to mix whole the ingredients in a pot and boil it for 1 hr until the liquid is gone.

Spread the beef chili on the dehydration trays and cover the tray with a parchment paper. Dehydrate the chili for 4 hours and after 2 hours break the spread chili into several small pieces. Store your shredded beef chili in a zipper bag and carry it to your camping. It only takes 10 minutes to re-hydrate it. At camp, boil your shredded chili for 10 minutes and is now then ready to eat.
